3) The fundamental idea of people “friending” each other simply because one recognizes the other’s name, with absolutely no intentions of contacting said person or even an interest in whatever this person posts on Facebook.
2) When people make statuses complaining about other people’s statuses about the weather. I can’t even talk about it. Please don’t make me go any further on this.
1) When people write their “truth is” on someone’s wall (this is the main point of the post, since I just witnessed this) and say “truth is I don’t really know you, but…” First of all, this annoys me because I know you promised them the truth and all, but who says to someone he’s been going to school with since second grade, who he’s shared classes with, who he has talked to on several different occasions, “I don’t really know you”? Is there a more surefire way to make a situation awkward than to point out to someone that you don’t know them? And then, when the person on the receiving end of this “truth is” completely ignores the “I don’t know you” and responds in an overly-congenial manner to whatever second part the confessor wrote, as if his existence was not just insulted—. I really don’t blame this second person, because honestly, what else are you supposed to say? But my God, what a rude, shallow, fake conversation.
